This fourteen-day Best of Vietnam itinerary is designed as travel inspiration for guests who want to experience the country's defining landscapes and cities from North to South. The journey begins in Hanoi, continues by overnight train to Sapa, returns through Ha Long Bay, then moves to Hue, Hoi An, My Son, and Ho Chi Minh City before exploring the Mekong Delta, Can Tho, Cu Chi, and Cao Dai.
The program balances iconic sightseeing with local life, including highland trekking, colorful ethnic markets, an overnight Ha Long Bay cruise, central heritage sites, southern city discovery, floating markets, and historical sites linked to Vietnam's modern history. The route can be adapted to your preferred pace, travel dates, hotel style, and special interests.

Day 1 - Hanoi Arrival
Arrive in Hanoi and receive a warm welcome before private transfer to your hotel. After a tour briefing, the remainder of the day can be arranged according to your arrival time. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2 - Hanoi City Tour - Night Train to Lao Cai
After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Hanoi, a capital with more than a thousand years of history. Visits may include the Ho Chi Minh complex, One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, West Lake, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Quan Thanh Temple, and either the History Museum or the Museum of Ethnology. In the late afternoon, enjoy a water puppet performance and a cyclo ride through the Old Quarter. In the evening, board the overnight sleeper train to Lao Cai. Overnight on board.
Day 3 - Lao Cai - Sapa
Arrive at Lao Cai station early in the morning and transfer to Sapa. After breakfast at the hotel, walk toward Cat Cat village of the Black Hmong, visiting a waterfall and the remains of a French-era hydroelectric station. Continue trekking toward Sin Chai village at the foot of Fansipan, often called the roof of Indochina. In the afternoon, visit Ta Phin village to learn about Red Dao and Black Hmong traditions, weaving techniques, and daily life before returning to town. Overnight in Sapa.
Day 4 - Sapa - Lao Cai - Night Train to Hanoi
Depending on the day of the week, visit one of the region's colorful highland markets, such as Can Cau, Bac Ha, Coc Ly, or Xin Cheng, where Hmong, Dzao, Phu La, and other communities gather in traditional dress. In the late afternoon, stop briefly at the Chinese border area before returning to the railway station for the overnight train to Hanoi. Overnight on board.
Day 5 - Hanoi - Ha Long Bay
Arrive in Hanoi around 5:00 am, with a day room available to freshen up before breakfast. Around 8:00 am, travel to Ha Long Bay and board a traditional-style junk for an overnight cruise. After lunch, explore limestone caves and visit a floating fishing village. The captain then finds a quieter spot for swimming, sunbathing, or kayaking. Enjoy a seafood dinner on board. Overnight on the junk.
Day 6 - Ha Long Bay - Hanoi - Fly to Hue
If weather allows, enjoy an early swim before breakfast while cruising through more of the bay. Disembark around midday and transfer directly to the airport for your flight to Hue. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy free time. Overnight in Hue.
Day 7 - Hue City Tour
Discover Hue, Vietnam's former imperial capital on the Perfume River. In the morning, take a scenic boat ride and visit Thien Mu Pagoda and the Minh Mang Mausoleum. In the afternoon, explore the Citadel, including the Imperial City, the Forbidden Purple City, and the former royal residence area, then continue to Dong Ba Market. Overnight in Hue.
Day 8 - Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An
Travel south from Hue to Hoi An over the Hai Van Pass, with magnificent coastal views. Stop at Lang Co for a break and visit the Cham Museum and Marble Mountains en route. Upon arrival in Hoi An, enjoy a walking tour of the ancient town, including the Tan Ky House, Phuc Kien Pagoda, the Assembly Hall, former merchants' houses, the Japanese Covered Bridge, and the riverside market. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 9 - Hoi An - My Son Holy Land
Drive to My Son, a UNESCO World Heritage sanctuary southwest of Hoi An and once a major religious center of the Champa Kingdom. Set in a lush valley, the site preserves remarkable red-brick towers and sanctuaries dating from between the 7th and 13th centuries. Return to Hoi An in the afternoon for free time to shop or visit a tailor. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 10 - Hoi An - Da Nang - Fly to Ho Chi Minh City
Leave Hoi An for a morning flight from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City. After a short rest, enjoy a half-day city tour including the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, the War Remnants Museum, and Ben Thanh Market. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 11 - Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta - Can Tho
Travel from Ho Chi Minh City to Cai Be in Vinh Long province and explore the Mekong Delta by boat. Along the way, visit local cottage industries such as rice paper makers, sweets workshops, and bonsai nurseries. After lunch at an orchard, continue through the delta's canal network to Vinh Long, then drive to Can Tho. Overnight in Can Tho.
Day 12 - Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh City
Rise early for a boat trip to Cai Rang floating market, one of the Mekong Delta's busiest river markets, where boats often specialize in a single product such as pumpkin, pineapple, or sugar cane. After sampling local fruit, return to the hotel and drive back to Ho Chi Minh City in the late afternoon. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 13 - Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels and Cao Dai Temple
Visit the Cu Chi tunnels, an extraordinary underground network built during Vietnam's long struggle for independence, with trapdoors, living areas, storage facilities, field hospitals, command centers, and kitchens. Continue to Tay Ninh to visit the Cao Dai Great Temple, one of Asia's most striking religious structures and the spiritual center of the Cao Dai faith. If timing allows, witness the daily noon prayer ceremony before returning to Ho Chi Minh City. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 14 - Ho Chi Minh City Departure
Enjoy free time until private transfer to the airport for your departure flight. End of services.
